Description
As my 10th Character upload under our Carnival 2012 theme "CaseNuove HorrorShow" I chosen The Forest Demon.
In comparison to most other characters this is not related to any particular horror icon but an newly invented monster.
Since most monsters was already chosen we started to look for something scary looking and inspirational on dA. (best place for that kind of search
) And the image that we fell in love with is this Halloween face paint: [link] made by the Spanish artist leadheavy. (Thanks for the inspiration Michael !!!! )
Now since we already had two sculls (Grim reaper and Jack) as part of the cast , plus we wanted to to create something more folklore and dark fairy-like the concept of an Forrest demon was born.
From the origin inspiration I keep the kind of wooden like cracks and the iconic red eyes. While the 3 dimensional bark like textured created a more (female) Ent like feel to it.
